Ontario students return to in-class learning: What should we know?

As planned, students will return to face-to-face learning on Monday, January 17, Premier Doug Ford’s office told the CityNews.

After the Ford government confirms that all students and teachers in Ontario will be back to school next week, there are many concerns around the new back-to-school guidance from the Ministry of Health.

As stated in the new protocols, students will only get tested with PCR testing if they develop COVID-19 symptoms while they are at school. Schools will no longer notify students with a positive case in classes as they routinely did before.

Students who tested positive at school will need to follow the provincial isolation and testing guidelines.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce will hold a news conference this Wednesday afternoon to update the return-to-school plans.
